Sammamish Polar Bear 5K

Race Info

Come join us for the inaugural Sammamish Polar Bear 5k?  It’s January, it’s cold outside, it may be raining, but that isn’t going to stop you from getting out with family and friends to challenge yourselves in this flat/fast 5k running/walking event. 

You’ll toe the line with many competitive rowers from the Sammamish Rowing Association (SRA).  These nationally ranked athletes are use to training and competing in difficult conditions.  The teams will be using this event as a tune-up as they head in their spring training regime.   Come out and see the team, ask questions and you never know, you may find yourself in one of the many rowing options hosted by our one SRA.  A portion of the proceeds from this event go to support the Scholarship Fund to ensure that all rowers are able to fully participate regardless of cost.

Even if you’re not serious about your time, we make sure that we get an accurate time for every finisher.  Using the latest RFID technology, overhead antennas, timing mats, and video backup, we’ll be posting your time at the event and online after the race.  Whether you’re a competitive athlete, recreational runner or family strider, we’re looking forward to a great morning with finisher t-shirts, beautiful age group awards, and online finisher results. It’s going to be a great morning and we hope you join us.

What’s included?

In additional to disposal RFID chip timing, runners registering until 11:59 PM January 3rd , will receive the inaugural Polar Bear 5k finishers t-shirt.  Additionally, will have water and  bananas for all finishers.

  9:00 am – 5k run/walk begins

10:00 am – 5k Awards ceremony

Entry Fees

 Standard Entry Fee:  $30  (T-shirt cutoff date: 1/3/18)

 Late Entry Fee:         $40  (1/25 - 1/27: No t-shirts after 1/3/2018.  May be available for sale at the race)

 Kids < 5:                   Free

The address for the start/finish is in Redmond’s Central Connector Park.  The park is located at the corners of

161^st Ave NE and Bear Creek Parkway, Redmond, WA

Make your way to the end of Browns St. for the start/finish area.

Parking is in the park and on the street outside the park.
