Warm Beach Kids to Camp Run

  Kids to Camp-Warm beach

Join us for a fun run to benefit the Kids 2 Camp Scholarship fund at Warm Beach Camp. The scholarships help kids come to camp who otherwise would not be able to attend.

Camp is a place where kids can leave behind the cares, distractions, and problems of everyday life. It’s an opportunity for them to experience a breather - to catch a vision for the bigger picture of their lives, a place where the love of God becomes more real.

When a life is touched by love the result is transformation.

Warm Beach Camp helps more than 1600 campers a year to attend camp who would otherwise be left out. It provides them a life changing experience. Join us to bring more kids to camp!

You can choose to run, volunteer, or just donate! Kids 2 Camp Benefit Run is a family friendly run/walk with 10K, 5K, and 1 mile courses through the beautiful Warm Beach Camp and Conference Center grounds.

10k Course Description

The 10k course is a challenging trail run consisting of gravel paths, dirt trails, with a few sections of paved roads and sidewalks gains 300ft of elevation over the course of the 6.2 miles. But while the course may be challenging the course is worth it and you will be rewarded with views of the Port Susan Bay, natural wetlands, beautiful wooded trails and on a clear day even views of the Olympic Mountains and Mount Baker.

Course Instructions:
The course follows wide gravel roads and paths for the first .5 mile, at which point you will enter a trail system behind Cedar Lodge’s amphitheater, where the views are stunning. The next section is a single-wide dirt path that connects up with the Beach Trail at .75 mile. You will drop 125ft down to sea level following the dirt and gravel trail. At the 1.5 mile mark, you will take a left onto the Dike Trail and run out and back along the estuary where you may see some native birds and mountain views. Once you return to the gravel Beach Trail you will take a left. At 2.75 mile, you take a left through the gate and onto the Wetland Preserve Trail. You will loop along the wetlands and water reserves then drop back out by the gate and take a left onto the Beach Trail. At 3.5 miles you will take a right just before a gate and enter the W-Bar-B trails system where you will gain 103ft in .25 mile then follow the trail back down to W-Bar-B. Watch you footing during this section as there are roots along the trail. At mile 4, you will pop onto to the W-Bar-B road for a short section, running on the left side of the road down. You will take a left below the W-Bar-B basketball course and loop back onto the gravel road heading towards the Horse Stables. You will continue straight, running past the Horse Stables and up the gravel road to Bayview. Just shy of 4.25 miles, you will hang right onto Summer Trail. Over the course of the next .5 mile you will gain 130ft. This section of the trails includes a staircase on the edge of a natural ravine and trails that have exposed roots, so be sure to watch your step. At 4.3 miles you will take a left onto the single-wide Challenge Course Trail which weaves through beautiful native growth as well as some of WBC’s Challenge Course. At 4.5 miles, you will stay left to continue on the Summer Trail which will take you to the entrance of Camp. You will hang right and run to the 4-way stop, cross to the left to enter the RV Loop where you take a second left and follow the gravel road to the Chinook Trail. You will follow the trail which winds through the woods between the Warm Beach Camp Senior Center and Chinook Village. You will exit woods by the Pool and take a right onto the sideway. At 5.25 miles, you will hang right to enter the RV Loop and enter the Cirque Trail at 5.5 miles, taking a left to follow the trail. Once back to the paved road you will take a left and at 5.7 miles, you will take a right onto the sidewalk next to Maple Center. You will follow the sidewalk past Maple Center, Cedar Lodge and the Baker Cabins. At 6 miles, you will take a right and follow the gravel road back to the finish line!
