The 5K Spring Water Run is once again a featured attraction of the annual Williamston Spring Water Festival. This year the event is the weekend before, on Saturday, Aug. 19, while the festival is set for Aug. 25-26.

FEES: The 5K entry fee is $25 online in advance or $30 on the day of the race. The mile run is $10. Online pre-registration ends at midnight on Aug. 17.
SCHEDULE: The 1-mile starts at 7:45 a.m. and the 5K begins at 8:30 a.m.
Late registration is Aug. 19, between 6:15-7:30 a.m. in the parking lot beside McDonald’s in downtown Williamston.
AWARDS: Medals go to all finishers in the 1-mile race under 12 and trophies to the top two males and females in the 5K, the top two male and female masters (40 and older) and the first three males and females, in these age divisions: 10 and younger, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, and 65 and older.
Awards and drawings will be held following the 5k run. All registered runners are eligible for race-day drawings which include a variety of prizes. Pictures of all winners will be made immediately after presentation of awards.
COURSE: The 5K course includes city streets and country roads with rolling hills. Splits will be called at the 1- and 2-mile mark and water stations will be on the course.
MISCELLANY: Food and drink will be provided after the race for runners.
The Williamston Police Department will secure all major intersections.
